REIKI FAQ
Reiki is a type of energy healing. In this practice, a person called a Reiki practitioner helps move energy around the body. The energy they work with is called “universal life force energy.” The practitioner usually places their hands on or near the person receiving the healing.
The practitioner typically does not talk during the treatment. The individual is free to communicate openly, as the client may experience sensations in the body such as heat, gentle pulsing, or tingling.
Consequently, you gain, or regain, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance. This may take one treatment or a series of treatments.
Reiki practitioners don’t absorb your energy. Nor do you absorb their energy, any more so than if you were exchanging long periods of touch with another human.
Reiki is spiritual by nature, but it does not belong to any particular religion. You can think of it as a connection between the physical world and the spiritual one. It helps people use the universal life force energy. This energy flows through all living things.

Other practices in medicine focus on specific ailments and symptoms.
Reiki, however, is energy based, non-invasive, and is like a spiritual serenade, embracing the whole – mind, body, and spirit – like a cosmic hug of self-healing and personal growth wrapped up into one.
There are benefits to both:
In-person Reiki offers the tactile connection of the comfort in touch. In-person vibes and environmental elements can offer tranquility.
In Distance Reiki, you can experience the quantum magic of energy transcending miles, it is convenient in that there is no travel and location is on your terms.
Essentially the benefits are the same. In-person simply offers the sense of touch.
Reiki reduces stress and anxiety. It eases depression and improves mood. It also has a positive effect on injury and chronic pain, which also ties into mood and stress.
In essence, Reiki creates a sense of emotional freedom.

Reiki is not a rebel, elbowing traditional medicine out of the way.
In fact, Reiki acts as a harmonizer and complements traditional medicine like a sidekick.
Caution: It’s often reported that Reiki may and often causes relaxation, stress relief, a tendency to nap (even during session), pain relief, a sudden urge for personal growth, and unexpected moments of clarity & insight.

Some will say certifications don’t matter and that large group atunements (ahem, placements) are the acceptable rage and that they are no different than intimate teachings and placements.
